Professor Tawfik is the director of the national scholarship program of the World Federation of Scientists (WFS), Geneva-Switzerland, and the associateship scheme program of UNESCO-TWAS (The World Academy of Sciences), Trieste-Italy. He is the founder and director of the World Laboratory for Cosmology and Particle Physics (WLCAPP) established in 2011 and the Egyptian Center for Theoretical Physics (ECTP) established in 2008. Dr. Tawfik is serving on several committees and panels for education, research, and development. He is a consultant to various research centers, funding agencies, and universities in Germany, Russia, USA, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Pakistan, Rwanda, South Africa, Uzbekistan, India, Algeria, and Saudi Arabia. He was also appointed in the industrial sector as senior advisor to Vodafone Germany. In 1999, he earned his first doctoral degree, Dr.rer.Nat (Ph.D.) in basic sciences, at Philipps University, Marburg-Germany. In 2012, the Supreme Attestation Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan confirmed awarding him the second doctoral degree in mathematics and physics, Doctor of Science (D.Sc.). Professor Tawfik accomplished successive academic posts at Marburg, Trier, Stuttgart, Bielefeld, Frankfurt (Germany), Hiroshima (Japan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Assiut, South Valley, Sohag, MTI, NU, FUE (Egypt). Thereby, Dr. Tawfik served in various accreditation, attestation, and examination, as well as, syllabus and curricula development committees. He was trusted as the department chair at some of these academic institutions. The promotion to full professorship was issued by Nathiagali, Pakistan (2010), Ulegh Academy, Uzbekistan (2012), Supreme Council of Universities, Egypt (2013), and FIAS, Germany (2018). In 2012, Professor Tawfik was elected as UNESCO-TWAS fellow, and since 2016 serving as UNESCO-TWAS councilor representing the Arab World. In 2020, he also was elected as a fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS), Nairobi-Kenya. Since 2008, he has been a fellow of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and serving in the National Committee for Physics, the Network for Nuclear Sciences, and the Egyptian Network for High-Energy Physics.
